I Saw Ryan Kissing Santa Claus

Only 12 days left until Christmas Blogstalkers!  And tomorrow there will only be 11 days left.  And the next day there will only be 10 days left.  Because that is how counting works.

This last Tuesday was Ryan's and my 2 year wedding anniversary.  Pause one minute for gratuitous wedding photo.

Ryan and I have decided to make it a tradition to go eat lunch every year at the restaurant at which we got married, so I was expecting to do that on Tuesday.  But Ryan completely surprised me this year by also getting tickets to go see How The Grinch Stole Christmas - The Musical.

And I wore Ryan's Santa coat instead of my normal Winter coat.

After the show it was a nice-ish night so we decided to walk home.

Lauren: What did you think?  I thought it was just OK.

Ryan: Are you kidding? It was terrible.  It gave me literally zero ideas on how to steal Christmas.

Lauren: Oh hilarious Ryan.  If you don't start behaving you're going to be Home Alone tonight.

Ryan: Oh good.  I could really use a Silent Night, a Holiday Inn if you will.  It would be like a Miracle On *Our* Street.

Lauren: .....

Ryan: It would be The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.  I might even be moved to sing A Christmas Carol.

Lauren: Are you done?

Ryan: Maybe. I'm trying to work on something using The Little Drummer Boy.

And then I picked up a Jingle Bell Rock and shouted Here Comes Santa Claus! and charged my no-good husband.  But he just laughed and kissed me and I was like "Awww, it's Love, Actually.

So that was our pretty normal anniversary.  What have you all been up to?  Celebrating anything lately?

P.S. I am literally out the door to pickup my P.O. box keys right now so I'll post that later today!  And I'll let you all know who won copies of Heidi's book tomorrow!

  3. We just bought a house and moved in September. Today my neighbor (the grandmother of a woman I've known for almost twenty years) came over with a Christmas treat for my three boys and also to welcome us to the neighborhood. She made my day by calling her granddaughter a poophead several times for moving from Oklahoma to Colorado. Ha!

  5. Love the wedding picture! Brian and I celebrated one month of wedded bliss on Tuesday :) Not quite as special as two years, but we were pretty stoked. Also, I have had my Yankee Candle candles going all of December in honor of the holidays! My living room smells like "Home for the Holidays" yum!

    1. I remember one month! It was exciting. And I am jealous of your candles. Too many smells give Ryan a headache.

    2. Brian says they give him a headache also...but then I caught him with one burning in his office one day. So now I am allowed to burn them in the living room only :)

Are you still going to post a review of The Casual Vacancy? I just finished reading it an hour ago and would love to know what you thought of it.

    1. Yes I totally have to figure out how to do that at some point. But if you haven't already check out Katie's review at www.wordsforworms.com. She did a pretty good job. Probably better than I'll do.

    1. Thanks! I loved it too. Unfortunately part of the deal for me having it was that I had to sell it after my wedding was over. Sad face. Although I honestly don't know when I would have worn it again.

  10. Happy Anniversary!
Actually I'm feeling very Ryan like as in I'm very Grinchy. I've had a string of not so good luck lately, it's borderline me feeling like karma has made me her bitch.Even though I thought my karma was pretty good. Today was particularly crappy, and it's still not over. You're post, however, has made me smile and cheered me some, so thank you. Also, please ask Ryan if I can borrow his Grinch shirt and I will give him some ideas on how to steal Christmas and a little bit of Hanukkah too. I will also assist.

  13. Happy Anniversary! Sounds like it was celebrated perfectly. You guys make me feel old - we'll be married 19 years on Jan. 7. We never do much because after Christmas and New Year's we're pretty much partied out. Also, after 4 kids, we're usually broke. :D

  16. Happy Anniversary! You guys are so cute.

The Christmas mood finally hit me this week instead of Christmas stress. I had the last class with my incomprehensible teacher yesterday, so that is worth celebrating. Also, I believe this week is my blogstalkerversary, yay! One year of you entertaining me so greatly.
