Until then I'm really really busy trying to tie up loose ends and explain to my boss that yes it looks like I booked a "Vag Accrual" journal entry in both March and May, but really that was me just misspelling "Vac" which is how I spell vacation when I am being lazy, so he can stop accusing me of inappropriate-book-cooking.
Also, what is an appropriate way to cook the books ALAN?
So posting will be light in the coming week. But I will make up for it with some seriously heavy fricking posting after that. For all the days of my life. Or for one year until Ryan makes me go back to work. Whichever comes first.
Anywho, seeing as how I get to celebrate this transition in style next Thursday immediately following work because Ryan is taking me out to dinner at a very fancy place that he has yet to book because he doesn't know we are doing this yet, I thought I would give you all a bit of chance to celebrate that day as well.
So when Olivier at Ode a la Rose contacted me offering to giveaway a dozen of some seriously gorgeous flowers, I jumped at the opportunity. I got especially excited after I visited their site and read their story. Olivier and Louis, the founders of Ode a la Rose recently quit their serious-big-time jobs in an Investment Bank to follow their dream.
Just like me Blogstalkers!! Except my job was probably a little less serious seeing as I had many a conversation about things like "how the song Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus is not even remotely plausible as an in-real-life story," and "to answer your question, I am eating my cottage cheese with chopsticks because I am too lazy to go back to the kitchen for a spoon and I always have chopsticks in my purse in case an errant piece of sushi wanders into my day."
|Red Roses are Nature's Rubies, I always say to Ryan.|
They only deliver to New York City at the moment (which is very sad to me because roses would be a lovely accompaniment to next Thursday night's celebration dinner), but their website says they're looking to expand to deliveries all over the US in just a few months. (ahem RYAN.)
For a chance to have one dozen roses delivered to you or a loved one, just leave a comment below. I'll close the giveaway at 7pm CST next Thursday, right after I finish dancing a celebratory pants-less jig on top of my never-to-be-worn-again boring work pants. (You are welcome for the mental picture.)
Since the roses can only be sent to someone in NYC and I know there are lots of you out there who don't live in NYC and maybe don't have loved ones there either, I'm going to add my own little giveaway to this post too. Champagne and chocolates to anyone anywhere in the US. So one of you can sip some bubbly and nibble on some nougat and help me ring in the Year of Lauren (like the Summer of George from Seinfeld but with more sweatpants.)
So in your comment make sure you note if you'd like to be entered to win both giveaways or just the one that will get you drunk.
And seriously check out the Ode a la Rose site. These guys are funny and inspiring and their flowers speak for themselves.
Roses are pretty. Just like you. - Ode a la Rose.
I can't wait for this adventure to begin Blogstalkers, celebrate with me?
::Also Jayne asked in the comments how I was planning to send champagne in the mail, since it's illegal in the states. I want to reassure you all that I will not be breaking any rules. I will be shipping through a "luxury" retailer that I've used before when out of town friends get engaged and such.::
