Mostly Wordless Wednesday One Day Late

Hey Blogstalkers,  How's your day going?

In the spirit of posting more, I had been planning on restarting my Mostly Wordless Wednesday posts (of which there was only ever one...) but this week got off to a slow start since I didn't post on Monday and so everything got pushed back one day.  Which brings us to today.

Have I ever mentioned that OJ (My husband's BFF) was in an A Cappella group in college?  No?  Well he was.  Because he can sing just as well as any Disney character.

Which I know because once I was at one of his shows, in the front row clearly, and he sang the song Kiss The Girl right in my face and it was embarrassing and then I kicked him in the middle of the song.

I am nothing if not always proper.

But anyway, one of your comments reminded me of this video from 2008 when OJ was in town and sang one song as an Alum.  The group is Freshman Fifteen from Northwestern University.  The song is Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne.

Enjoy!

If you're interested this song is available on iTunes (in much better quality) for $0.99, just search Freshman Fifteen Stacy's Mom (It's on the "Pants Down" album.)

UPDATE: One of my FB friends found this on YouTube and it has been confirmed by OJ himself that it is in fact him singing.

NOW do you all understand why I had to kick OJ mid-performance?

If you're interested both songs are available on iTunes (in much better quality) for $0.99, just search Freshman Fifteen Stacy's Mom or Freshman Fifteen Kiss The Girl.

    1. I seriously can not wait until OJ finds a wife so then she and I can be second best friends and have slumber parties where all we do is talk about how ridiculous our husbands are.

    2. I would gladly fill out an application to be Mrs. OJ/Lauren's 2nd best friend! I would totally kick as at that job!

  2. Love your blog! When are you going to post Ryan's rules for being a stay at home wife?? I've been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiting for that. I so can't wait til I'm married so that I can get on my fiance's health insurance and then I can work part time and I'm sure he'll have rules for me too. lol.

    1. Haha actually the person you're waiting on is Ryan. He is apparently still "fleshing out" the rules.

      Glad you like the blog!

  4. I think.....that they invented the phrase "Tall Dark and Handsome" just for OJ. That was awesome. How is that guy still single?

    2. you should interview him and ask why he thinks he's still single. haha you should have a feature like OJ goes on a skype date with.... lol

  5. I was really excited to see a new post from you. Doubly excited to see that it included a Fountains of Wayne song, since they're possibly my favorite band ever. I am desperately curious to know what OJ stands for. I have a friend I call OJ, but that's because we were both bridesmaids in my Sister In Law's wedding, and it was too much for me to handle having a bride named Jenny AND a bridesmaid named Jenny. OJ stands for "Other Jenny." And yes, she still talks to me. Crazy, right? But I'm GUESSING that your OJ doesn't stand for "Other Jenny" OR "Orenthal James" OR "Orange Juice"... So what is it? The suspense is killing me.

    1. OJ stands for Oscar Junior, although Oscar isn't actually his first name, he's got one more before that. "Orange Juice" was close though, in college a lot of people called him "The Juice"

    2. The prospect of OJ being a Junior never crossed my mind! I can't really blame his family for resorting to nicknames though. We have 5 Jim's in our family, so my brother in law is referred to as "The New Guy."

    3. Yep. I think there's a picture of his dad, Oscar Sr. in one of the How Ryan Met Lauren posts, probably the most recent one.

That's hilarious about all the Jims. I don't think we have too many repeating names in my family.

My sister (who loved Twilight) gets pretty upset sometimes though that her dad is named Edward and her boyfriend is Jacob.

  6. How exactly is it that OJ is still single? Seriously, what are we missing?

All my sparkly feelings about OJ are starting to make me feel like a dirty old woman because I'm pretty sure I'm old enough to be his mother (had I been an excessively promiscuous teenager, which I wasn't so quit looking at me like that).

1:47 makes me think "maybe being a cougar isn't such a bad deal after all." :-D

I guess I'm not at all original in asking how in the world OJ is still single. The only reason I can think of is he has hundreds of diseases from all the sex he has with all of the women who throw themselves at him. (And even IF that were true, I'd probably still marry him.)

P.S. I am thrilled you're posting so regularly! (OJ or no OJ ;) It makes me want to start blogging again.

    1. Really don't know why OJ is still single. He's had some serious girlfriends just hasn't found The One yet I guess?

So glad you're liking the more frequent posting! I'm a little scared that if increase post quantity it'll harm quality (which was negligible to begin with if we're being honest here.)

And Blog! Seriously. I'm always looking for new things to read.

  13. Clicking reply isn't working... and this is for Ryan: Hurry up with the list of rules RYAN.

And do you have an LJ account? You can read my LJ if you're super bored and want new content to read. It's friends only, lol. But it has 10 years worth of content. I started a wedding blog but I've only posted on it about 5 times... I keep up with the LJ blog though since it doesn't have a specific subject.

  14. Ok, now I want to marry OJ. We can make sweet, sweet music together - I was in the choir in college too, so clearly we are meant to be together! :)

Trying to decide what age would make me a cougar. Sadly, I think I might be there.

    Love your blog!

I've been told that I can sing like a Disney princess. We are obviously soulmates. Please tell me he lives in D.C!!!

In other news, you are freaking hilarious, and I can't wait for more posting!

  17. Haha are you sure oj doesn't have a secret crush on you?? Proposing, serenading... Ryan had better appreciate your talent and charm like his friend does!! :)

  18. And now I'm imagining OJ as a Disney Prince ... I wonder if he'd be opposed to the tights.

  19. I absolutely jumped ahead to 1:47. I couldn't wait. Um, WOW! I too am in the cougar category, which is too bad since I am SO single and ready to mingle (see how old I am?)

  20. This is amazing. I'm not even surprised OJ can sing. At this point, I think he could probably bring on world peace.

I love the OJ posts. Can you get us blogstalkers a video of him and Ryan singing a duet? Because I think that might be even better than the 'Call Me Maybe' couch dance.

And I would also like to see some OJ skype dates/ Win a date with Oscar Junior posts. Especially if he keeps singing.

Seriously, I love this. So glad the Bloggess linked to you!
