Housekeeping! You Want Me For Pillow?

Can you name that movie Blogstalkers?

But yeah this is pretty much just a Housekeeping post.  Sorry!  I'll be back on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of next week and all of the following weeks with more posts.

First, since I now actually have time to actively participate in social media and am blogging from a computer on which social media is not blocked, I am using Twitter & Facebook & Pinterest a whole heck of a lot more.  If you're interested in being a part of even more of my crazy you can click the icons at the top of my sidebar to follow/friend me.  You can follow me on Instagram too at LaurenFilingJointly.

Second, I am now offering purely text ads for other bloggers on my sidebar.  I've put up an example under the header "Blogs I Love."  My rates and stats are detailed on my 'Advertise' page but basically, according to Google Analytics, I average well over 60,000 page views from about 20,000 unique viewers a month.  My Klout score is currently 62 and growing on an almost daily basis.  It is $15 a month for a link to your blog and a 1-2 sentence blurb.

Third, I added another video of OJ singing (Kiss The Girl) on the previous post, so check that out if you're interested.

Fourth, I am announcing the giveaway winners! (Determined using Random.Org)

One dozen of the gorgeous Ode a la Rose flowers go to:

My best friend is moving to NYC in a couple weeks. If they can wait that long, I'd love to have some delivered to her for a homecoming.

If you didn't win still check them out!  Their flowers are insanely beautiful and they were beyond wonderful to work with on this giveaway.  (I wasn't paid or perked to say this.)

My silly prize, the champagne and chocolates goes to:

Stacy8/12/2012
Hi Lauren,
Count me in on the drawing for the champagne and chocolates, and if I win, please send them to Terryk who posted above. You are so right...cancer just sucks.
Stacy
When I first saw Stacy's comment, offering to give the champagne and chocolate to another reader who had commented mentioning that she had recently lost her husband to cancer, I was overwhelmed and thought "That would be so amazing if she won."  And lo and behold today when I was counting comments to figure out who Random.org had chosen as a winner, Stacy's name was where I landed.  I would have loved to send any one of you champagne and chocolate and would send it to all of you if I had a money tree but I am truly overjoyed to be able to send this prize to TerryK through Stacy.

So Kirsten Leah and Stacy/TerryK please email me at LaurenRaeGallagher@gmail.com for details on how to claim your prizes.

Fifth, I am considering having a little Skype party one night sometime soon to toast me leaving my job and all of the crazy and wonderful things going on in all of your lives.  Would anyone actually be interested in that?

Sixth,

Lots of Love Blogstalkers!

    1. Haha, I'm working on figuring it out right now. Might just have to be a Twitter party.

  3. You can make skype group chats, but I think its kind of complicated. What about a google group or a twitter party. What did our fearless leader The Blogess do when she did her book groups? I can't remember.

      And you got dude!

    3. Well as long as we're playing Trivia, "You Got It Dude" is Michelle Tanner's tagline from Full House. You know. Before the Olsen twins were anorexic. Sorry to make you blushy, it's Friday and I'm feeling warm and fuzzy!

  8. I will totally download Skype for a Skype date with you - how uncanny are our similarities. 1) I totally got married to my highschool sweetheart three weeks ago, 2) His name is also Ryan 3) He also wears shirts not a lot.... 4) We were together for ten years when he proposed (we got married after 12 years together total)4) I think you're funny AND I think I'M hilarious, so we'd obviously be friends. Good for you for quitting your job - that's fantastic! I wish you the best of luck on your year trial! Hopefully it'll turn into 5 and then 10 and then 20....

    1. I may or may not have made myself a unicorn horn today out of a toilet paper roll, some ribbon and glitter.

  11. Fifth -Yes. down for this. I don' think you could do that with Skype, but you could do a upstream where we could see you in all your unicorn glory, and use the chat box on the side to "converse"

    1. Sounds like a plan! First I just need to practice sucking in my cheeks to highlight my cheekbones while simultaneously drinking and talking.

  12. I have never been so happy to lose a giveaway! You have awesome blogstalkers!

Also, instead of a Skype thingy, you could also try a Google+ hangout...?

I am going to be a unicorn today, instead of a monkey. It's good to change things up. :)

  14. I don't know if I completely trust unicorns. Why exactly do they need that freaking huge horn? And what's so special about their blood? Too many questions, if you ask me.

Oh man, both Stacy and Terryk are awesome.
I know this is weird, but unicorns terrify me. I can't even begin to think about making eye contact with one without shuddering. I have all different kinds of unicorn fears that I'm not even sure the Internet is ready for.

  16. I feel the urge to pont out that had you said "What TV show is the title from" I would have screamed out "FAMILY GUY!!" and then realized I am aging myself as The Internetz does not work that way, so then sat down and typed it in. But not before my nine year old asked me what Family Guy is, a question I would not be able to answer as too inappropriate plus I would only be able to laugh as would be thinking of what my husband and I do every time we are in a hotel (pretty much never) which is giggle like hyenas everytime we pass maid service then whisper to each other " Housekeeping? housekeeping? I come in? I come in now. I stay and watch? I join in? Housekeeping?"

  17. Yay Stacy! Whenever my faith waivers in the human race, which is pretty much every time I go to work (I work at a COMMUNITY college) so it happens a LOT, I become the witness of a truly selfless act, the temporarily restores my faith in the aforementioned humanity, if only until I have to go back to work on Monday. Kudos to you Stacy for thinking of someone else.

I am ever so thrilled that you are blogging more frequently Lauren, I really must reconsider the number of times a week that I am available to read. Also you really must talk to me when you have writer's block. I seem to inspire the writer in more than one person. One day I might just have a blog of my very own, but until I get done working, being a mommy, going to college, or being a wife, i find that I lack not the want or the conventions, I just lack the time that it requires to maintain an audience on a long term basis. That is why I have you Lauren. I live vicariously through you in a platonic, non-creepy, I-think-you-are-awesome kind of way.
PS. The quote is from Black Sheep, starring David Spade and the late Chris Farley.
