I could not be more excited.
Over the past year you all, my Blogstalkers, have provided me with so much humor and support and I want to thank you for it. I very much think I could not have gotten through the first part of 2012 without your raging awesomeness.
Tomorrow I'll be back with a funny post (very excited about it) and Friday I'll have Ryan's and my video FAQs, with Ryan's best friend OJ as moderator. But today I wanted to do something a little bit different. Something to thank you. I wish I could send each and every one of you one million dollars for making this last year easier for me to navigate, but I am not a billionaire (yet..probably soon.) I am likely not even a thousandaire, but am not sure as I avoid my bank statements so that I am not reminded about how I accidentally spent $37.89 at the candy store last Tuesday.
So today (and for the next week) I'm hosting a linky party. Please link up below with one of your favorite posts. Maybe one that made you spit on your keyboard and maybe lose control of your bladder a little bit. Or maybe the one that brought tears to your eyes at its truthfulness. Or maybe just a post you're proud of writing. It can be one of your own or one written by another blogger. Heck, link up as many as you like. Link up every single post you've ever written if you want.
I promise to read every single one and comment on every single one and mention a couple of my favorites in an upcoming post.
So much love Blogstalkers.
Never lose your Muchness.

There have been many make me laugh out loud posts by many bloggers over the years. This one jumped immediately to mind though:
ReplyDeletehttp://thebloggess.com/2011/06/and-thats-why-you-should-learn-to-pick-your-battles/
I STILL laugh out loud when I read it over.
Yep, definitely one of my favorites too. I added the link under your name to the bottom of my post!
DeleteI see that and question why I didn't yesterday. Sometimes I think I blog in my sleep. Dur. Now I have a whole list of hilarious blogs to read at work today. YAY!
DeleteHappy actual blogiversary! And a link party, how fun. And Amanda's is great. That's the one that started my love for The Bloggess.
ReplyDeleteI don't read a lot of blogs and I have a bad memory, but this is one of my favourites. I can't hear or read the word "parp" without laughing.
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.se/2010/09/party.html
Hmm. I forgot I go by Lisa S now.
DeleteYeah Hyperbole and A Half is one of the greatest blogs ever written (in my humble opinion) and that post is so so funny.
DeleteI added a thumbnail link to it!
And Thanks!
Happy Blogiversary, Lauren! As much as your blogstalkers have helped you navigate the past year, so have you been a compass to many of us. Better than a compass, even, because most compasses I know of don't have a sharp sense of humor, or such silly observations, or a penchant for cheese and monkeys and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAllie's blog kills me in both it's relatability and it's ridiculous, painfully funny and painfully true sense of life as a young woman with issues like myself - I know you've read her, but much like her posts on sneaky hate spirals and adventures in depression (not to mention her dog), this particular post is more "me" most days than can be described:
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-why-ill-never-be-adult.html
Congratulations on another 'iversary' to celebrate :)
I love Allie Brosh so much. Clean All The Things?
DeleteI added that post as a thumbnail to the bottom of my post!
And Thanks! Really.
Being a Mom the post from this blog I will link brought tears to my eyes. It's truthful and honest and reality. And it's awesome. and I love the blog as a whole anyways! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.modgblog.com/2012/03/12/learning-to-accept-your-child-for-who-they-are-almost-like-learning-advanced-physics-hard/
Thanks! I'll definitely be checking it out today.
DeleteOh so many choices. I love the Beyonce article that Amanda mentioned. I think my favorite post I wrote last year was http://rbsquared.info/the-bear-in-the-volcano/
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if the writing is really that good or if i just like it b/c it was such an absurd situation. But I think its one of the moments I realized my favorite things to write about are the funny ones. And as I love reading your funny stories, it seemed like a good thing to post here!
Cheers on your anniversary!! You (and your blog) are a near constant inspiration to me and a reminder to just be myself online as opposed to trying to fit into a pre-determined blogging box.
Awesome! I added it. I can not wait to read all of these.
DeleteSeriously, am so excited.
Thanks for all of the kind words.
You are most welcome! Thanks for the link up! I'm already seeing increased traffic.
DeleteP.S. I think you an OJ might have started a trend:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/06/08/154583514/listen-npr-hosts-reporters-take-on-call-me-maybe
Well, The Blogess and Hyperbole and a Half have already been covered, and those are two of my always favorites!
ReplyDeleteI also like the girls over at Interrobangs Anonymous. Disclosure: I used to work with one of them, and they're really funny and interesting, too. One of the stories I still laugh over involves cockroaches in underwear: http://interrobangsanon.wordpress.com/2011/07/20/the-day-of-the-underpants-cockroach/
Well, I laugh and then I go and check my apartment for creepy crawlies.
Sounds terrible! (in an hilarious sort of way of course.)
DeleteI'll add a thumbnail and be sure to check the post out.
Just found your blog from a link on The Blogess! You are a celebrity! I have read EVERY SINGLE POST while at work. I can't tear myself away! You are going on my favorites list!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BLOGVERSARY!!!! Woohooooo!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Virtual high five for one year of greatness.
ReplyDeleteA link party is the best idea ever, can't wait to sit down with my tea and a couple of oreos and laugh the calories off, because who am I really fooling, "a couple of oreos" phffff.
Anywho, here is my little contribution: http://itjustgetsstranger.blogspot.no/2011/12/snuggie-texts.html
I love the Bloggess! SO I added an all-time favorite of mine from her blog. Although there really are too many to count! Her conversations with Victor remind me of the ones that I have with my husband.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Blogiversary! Here's to another year of reading your witty and beautifully comedic posts. Both yourself and The Bloggess are my favorite bloggers, and since both of my favorite posts from both blogs are already linked I choose my second favorite post: The Bloggess vs. Shatner. (http://thebloggess.com/2009/08/dear-william-shatner-you-mocked-me-once-never-do-it-again/) Seriously though, congrats Lauren. You're such a talented storyteller, and deserve all the success you've gotten with this blog and more. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Lauren! Reckon you have just about the best tone of any blog I've ever followed... here's to many more years of your wit and fun-poking of Ryan!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! I hope to be as successful as you in six months (my blogiversary!). If other awesome news, I will be in Chicago over July 4th and would love to tell you 'great job Lauren' in person... are you up for meeting a real life blogstalker?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary, Lauren!
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh loudly in my outside voice in the office, but it's totally worth it. Keep writing, we'll all keep reading!
I am totally cheating and posting two because I can't decide and you can't make me, so there. Both are dog-related, and really there are no funnier animals in the world, even funnier than ferrets, so here you go. Sweet Potato is perhaps NSFW due to language.
ReplyDeleteI Has A Sweet Potato
Dogs In Elk
I just discovered you, I think via The Bloggess, and have spent the past few days reading the archives. You are a very funny and articulate writer and I look forward to your future posts. As several commenters have remarked, Hyperbole-and-a-half has a great blog. My absolute favorite post is her "God of Cake." I die every time I read it.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I, too, just discovered your blog and have randomly laughed out loud like an idiot in my living room multiple times now while reading through your archives. My husband keeps asking me, "what's so funny?" Definitely not the golf he's watching...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the other person who does this to me is Roo from NiceGirlNotes. I linked up to one of my favorites (Things Kids Can Get Away With That Grownups Can't - Part II). So hard to narrow it down - I enjoy clicking through her "Best Of" section.
Thanks for the break from watching golf :)
easter egg hunt.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BLOGIVERSARY!!! I know, I'm late. But still. Mine is coming up in a couple weeks and I have no idea what to do. Still thinking . . .
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not gonna pimp my own blog, and there are tons of really excellent ones up there already, so I'll just say congrats again, and leave it at that!
happy "blogiversary", however, i think it should be 'blirth-day" instead, since instead of marrying it you birthed it :) just sayin...congradulations.
ReplyDelete~Rosalie
I've been getting a shitload of referral traffic from your site lately, and finally decided to come over here and see what was going on. Thanks for the love...although Jillian has better abs than me, I think we can agree I am much funnier. Happy blogiversary --
ReplyDeleteI don't follow instructions very well, or maybe I missed them altogether, but instead of making a fancy thumbnail image clip for you, here is the link to one of the hardest blog posts I have made so far...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.1qtnewf.com/2011/03/top-10-worst-moments-of-being-old-me.html
You are my new obsession.
Thanks for being you!
