Only The Good Die Young

If you're new here, please check out my archives or the popular posts listed in the sidebar.

::UPDATE - Early this morning my Mother In Law lost her battle with cancer.  This occurred just one month after my Father In Law died very unexpectedly of a brain hemorrhage.  We are heartsick.  Thank you for your understanding and compassion at this time::

Seriously blogstalkers, you don't know how much your words have meant.

Just over one year ago at our wedding.

Hey blogstalkers,

If you follow me on Facebook then you may have already seen my most recent update.  But I wanted to include it here as well.

Ryan's mother, who has been suffering with cancer for about a year and a half now, is doing very poorly and unfortunately it looks like our family will once again be saying goodbye to a loved one entirely too soon.

She is 54.  The same age her husband was when he died very unexpectedly, just one month ago.

They will leave behind countless friends and loved ones.  But most importantly, they will have left their four wonderful children, including my husband, his two younger brothers, and his younger sister, who is just 19.

We are heartbroken.

Given the circumstances, please excuse what will probably be a sporadic posting schedule in the days to come.

Send this family your thoughts and prayers blogstalkers.  We need it.

**I've gotten a couple of requests for information regarding sending cards/flowers/charity donations.  I'm uncomfortable putting that information up on the blog but please feel free to email me at LaurenRaeGallagher@gmail.com with any questions you may have.**

So very much love blogstalkers.  You are my favorites.

  5. Deepest sympathies, Lauren. Your mother-in-law is the second person I've heard this week with the same sad statistic, both in their early 50's. You're all in my thoughts and prayers.

  10. Oh, so terrible! My father-in-law, though 20 years older than yours, died unexpectedly in August and my husband is still reeling. To lose both parents almost at once? Devastating. As grownup as Ryan may seem (and that may often be debatable, ha ha), he'll feel like an orphan. Hold your man tight because he's going to need you now more than ever. Best wishes from a fan.

My boyfriend's father passed away unexpectedly last year at 54. Can't imagine how terrible it would be to lose both parents so close together, one is hard enough. I love your posts, but take all the time you need to come back.

Just know that my thoughts are with you and I hope that family and time will eventually lessen the sharp and immediate pain. BIG HUGS.
