You Saw Her Bathing On The Roof, Her Beauty In The Moonlight Overthrew You

Someone (Ryan) recently commented that my recent posts have contained fewer pictures than usual.  And then made some sort of snide remark about how he guesses it's understandable seeing as I probably don't have many as-to-yet unposted pictures remaining in which I am not wearing sweatpants or have something stuck in my teeth.

So I am dedicating this post to my husband.  Hope you like the pictures dear.

  1. Yes. Haha. Love these pictures! If I send you some old family pictures, will you invent some hilarious captions to go with? Sort of like those cheesy black and white cards they sell? That would be a great Monday for me.

    1. I would totally do it! I wish my job was writing captions. So much better than a desk job.

  2. The second one is killing me. KILLING ME I TELL YOU. But in a kind nice warm and fuzzy way.

    2. It's a toss up between Andy Samburg and The Beast. Bitches LOVE libraries!

    3. Bitches be fond of libraries yo.

    4. I LOVED The Beast. That was a whole new level of awesome. And true, too.

    5. Seriously. My dream home has a library with shelves all the way up to the ceiling with a rolling ladder. It's non-negotiable.

    6. When Borders went out of business in Phoenix I bought some of their super tall bookshelves. I'm going to refinish them and put them in my studio, where they will nearly reach the ceiling. I even thought about getting the ladder (because they were selling those, too) but sadly it wasn't in my budget. A footstool. That's about my budget.

    7. JEALOUS. I still use little dorm-ish bookshelves from Target. They do NOT show my books off to their greatest advantage.

      ::Sigh:: I miss Borders.

    1. I can think of a few people I would find disagreeable regardless of their puppy-giving-status.

The dummy that lives below Ryan and I for example. Because he would probably only give me puppies so he could later complain that they were "walking around too early on a Saturday."

  6. I just discovered your blog and it is awesome and funny. I think we should be friends! What kinds of books do you like to read?

    1. Yes! Let's be friends. I APPARENTLY (according to my husband) don't have enough friends, since sisters and cousins don't count as friends.

As far as books go, I read a huge assortment of things (although no romance/mystery/scifi stuff.) I'd say I concentrate mainly on popular fiction but I have read a lot of the classics and venture into non-fiction from time to time.

What do you like to read?

    2. Well, I enjoy some romance, sci-fi, fantasy and urban fantasy, but I also love memoirs and non-fiction. I will pretty much read anything put in front of me....

Also, sisters and cousins totally count as friends (because even though they're family you don't necessarily have to like them) but sometimes it is cool to have friends who are not blood related. :)

    3. I have ventured into the realm of fantasy (just read the Game of Thrones series) and sort of for some reason am increasingly addicted to post-apocalyptic novels, even though the idea of apocalypse frightens me to no end.

And memoirs, LOVE. I tend to read the presidents' as they come out, but also love a good old-time screen actress memoir.

So yeah I guess I'll read most anything too?

And I have four friends that are not blood-related, so I'm not a TOTAL loser, just a MOSTLY loser.

    4. Well then I must be a mostly loser too, since I have about 4 not blood related friends and not many blood related ones. Sad.

    5. Not a loser at all, just checked your profile and you live in Chicago, which makes you awesome.

  7. Colin Firth: crumpet.

    That is all.

    1. So I may love British men, but I am extremely unversed when it comes to British slang. Is crumpet a good thing? I furiously hope it is. And if it is, then why yes, I totally agree with you. Colin Firth IS a crumpet.

  8. I think I have a delicate lady crush on you. You are like...the blogger I wish I could be. Also, I totes appreciate this post and all its man-glory. I am going to add this to my blogroll, whether you like it or not! (And by that I mean, with your permission.)

    1. Haha totally add me to your blogroll. I will consider it nothing less than the greatest honor!

Seriously, being on blogrolls sort of makes me giggle and squirm.

  9. This post is full of win! And I think Beast's gift of the library to Belle is one of the most romantic things ever. (Random aside, do we ever learn what Beast's actual name is? He's only ever called Master or referred to as the prince in the prologue. What would be a good name for him?)

    1. So it's kind of funny but Ryan and I are moving next weekend to a home I chose because he said I could make the top floor (one room reached by winding staircase) a library!! So he sort of gave me a library.

But he also said that if he ever sees a book of mine anywhere but the library he will put spiders in my shoes.

Huh..I never realized that Beast didn't have a name....I'm naming him Fitzwilliam a la Mr. Darcy.
